Project Planning

The success of a project depends on how well you specify the work that needs to be done. This is especially true when it comes to e-training projects. Without a project plan, you will be pulled one way and another by various vendors who have solutions to problems you haven't discovered yet!

A comprehensive project plan:

Specifies "SMART"* project goals
Provides a rationale for the project in terms of expected benefits
Indicates how the project fits into your business or service strategy
Identifies phases or sub-projects
Lists the tasks for each phase
Identifies all resources required - people, financial, time, etc.
Specifies project outcomes and deliverables
Provides a budget

[*SMART - Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Related, Time-bound]

Some key questions that need answering about the e-training component include:
What are the essential features required for your e-training platform?
What e-training technologies will be used?
How will vendors be selected?
How will the e-training content and learning activities be designed and developed?
How will your learner registration, tracking and support system work?
What training will your instructor(s) / facilitator(s) need and where will they get it?
What criteria will be used to determine if your e-training project is successful?

e-training group™ can help your team define your e-training requirements and prepare a comprehensive project plan.
